SUBSTITUTIONS: College credit which includes six semester hours per year in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience. Completion of a two year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering will substitute for two years of the required experience. NOTES: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university. Custodial building maintenance is not qualifying. Job Concepts FUNCTION OF WORK: To supervise foremen who oversee a wide variety of facility maintenance and repair operations at a state agency. LEVEL OF WORK: Supervisor. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General direction from a higher level agency official. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct supervision over subordinate maintenance personnel. See allocation criteria memo for details. LOCATION OF WORK: May be used by all state agencies. JOB DISTINCTIONS: Differs from Maintenance Foreman by responsibility for supervision of subordinate foremen. Examples of Work EXAMPLES LISTED BELOW INCLUDE BRIEF SAMPLES OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL TASKS ARE INCLUDED. Supervises and coordinates a large multi-craft maintenance shop. Supervises foremen whose crews conduct maintenance and repairs of a multi-craft nature on job site locations. Prepares estimates of general repairs. Inspects work for completeness and quality. Supervises the repair, maintenance, and renovations and energy management systems in all buildings. Maintains close and open communication with higher level personnel on problems, short and long term requirements, priority changes, and provides input for long range departmental plans and systems requirements within all buildings. Prepares specifications for equipment and reviews drawings and specifications for new installations and/or modification of existing facilities. Contacts and works closely with equipment and systems representatives to insure maximum reliability of new installations, modifications, repairs, and overhauls.
