Virginia Health Services is hiring Full Time and Part Time Dietary Aides for Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Long Term Care and Rehab Center located in Hampton, VA. Our Team is proud to have a Five-Star Overall rating by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The hours will be from 1pm-8:30pm.


Responsibilities:


  • Assisting in the use of the menu tray card system.
  • Assisting with preparing and distributing resident meals and snacks in accordance with the menu, diet orders, and facility meal schedule.
  • Washing dishes and cleaning work area, tables, cabinets, carts, and ovens in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling for all food, including knowledge of proper holding temperatures and temperature documentation.
  • Effectively operating all kitchen appliances.
  • Following facility cleaning schedule as assigned.
  • Maintaining proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment and area.
  • Complying with all established policies and procedures.
  • Promoting and demonstrating positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents, family members, and visitors.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Prior food service experience is preferred, but not required.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple information.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, turn, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, talk, hear, taste or smell.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
