Why can't staff finish store checkout when the customer is already linked?

POS requires a selected customer on the register. Linking alone is not a documented blocker—re-select the customer if checkout fails.

The POS register requires an actively selected customer before you can finish a sauna and cold plunge retail sale—not merely a customer record that exists elsewhere. If checkout fails while someone looks linked, re-select them on the register; Zettlor has no confirmed product bug that blocks already-linked customers as policy.

What Zettlor does today

POS expects a customer selected in the register UI. Linking a customer in CRM or on a reservation does not automatically populate the POS customer chip. Checkout errors are usually a missing selection, not a hard block on linked profiles.

This behavior is partial: some of it is live, and the rest is a desk workaround rather than a missing settings screen you should hunt for. Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.

Desk path

Open POS. Search and explicitly select the customer in the register header before adding retail items. If checkout fails, clear and re-select the customer, then retry payment—do not assume CRM linking alone satisfies POS.

Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.

Failure mode

Staff see a customer on a reservation and skip selecting them on POS. Checkout refuses to complete and teams report a phantom bug instead of re-selecting the customer on the register.

Operator example

Rytual staff link a guest during check-in, then jump to POS for a cold plunge add-on without tapping the customer on the register. Re-selecting the profile clears the error.

A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.

How to do this

  1. Open POS on the register device.
  2. Search the customer and tap to select them in the POS customer field—even if they are already linked on a reservation.
  3. Add retail lines and complete checkout; if it fails, clear selection, re-select the same customer, and retry.

Is linking a customer in CRM enough for POS?

No. POS needs an active customer selection on the register. CRM or reservation linkage does not substitute for that selection.

Is there a known bug blocking linked customers?

There is no confirmed product bug documented as policy. When checkout fails, re-select the customer on the register first.
