Will our existing Stripe reader / tap-to-pay still work?
At the register, guests tap or insert a card using Stripe's in-browser card form. Dedicated Stripe Terminal readers are not supported. Phone tap-to-pay may work in the browser.
When you charge a card at the register, Zettlor uses Stripe's in-browser card form—not dedicated Stripe Terminal reader hardware. Tap-to-pay on a phone may work for sauna and cold plunge retail in the browser, but do not assume your old countertop Terminal reader pairs with Zettlor.
What Zettlor does today
POS supports card payments through Stripe's in-browser form. Docs historically noted card readers shipping later. Dedicated Stripe Terminal readers are not a supported Zettlor path today.
This behavior is partial: some of it is live, and the rest is a desk workaround rather than a missing settings screen you should hunt for. Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.
Desk path
Open POS, select a customer, add retail lines, and choose card payment at checkout. Use a connected Stripe account with card payments enabled. For tap-to-pay on a phone, run checkout in the browser—do not pair a Terminal reader expecting dedicated hardware support.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Operators plug in a Stripe Terminal reader and expect it to pair like their old stack. Checkout stalls because Zettlor only supports tap or insert a card at the register using Stripe's in-browser card form—not dedicated Terminal hardware.
Operator example
Alchemy tests tap-to-pay on an iPhone at the register for towel sales and cold plunge add-ons. Their countertop Terminal reader stays in the drawer because Zettlor does not drive Terminal hardware.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- Confirm Stripe Connect is linked under Integrations → Payments.
- Open POS, attach a customer, and build the sale.
- Choose card payment and complete checkout on the device where guests tap or insert cards—do not rely on pairing a dedicated Terminal reader.
