Why does a slot say available, then no longer available?
Explain last-seat races when checkout holds and confirmations change sauna and cold plunge availability.
Checkout holds add held seats while checkout runs. Two guests can see the last seat; the first confirmed hold or payment wins and the other sees the slot disappear.
What Zettlor does today
Open slots subtract confirmed bookings and active checkout holds from capacity. Stale holds expire after the hold timeout. Guest UI can lag briefly; refresh shows the slot gone when held seats reach the seat count.

Schedule to see held vs confirmed counts; waitlist on the offering or event when sold out.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Guests blame the system for overbooking when they lost a race on the last seat. Desk has no seat to assign because the winner already confirmed.
Operator example
Two Alchemy guests both open the last cold plunge seat; one completes payment first and the other's checkout errors with no longer available.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- On Schedule, check held seats versus seats for the slot in question.
- Explain that checkout holds are temporary until payment confirms or the hold timeout expires.
- If the guest lost the race, offer the next slot or add them to the waitlist on the offering.
- Do not delete the winner's booking to free a seat without policy approval.
- Refresh guest preview after holds expire to show accurate open seats.
