How do I redeem a gift card at booking, for a session and for retail?
Guests redeem a staff-issued gift-card code at booking and store checkout. Gift-card payment at POS does not reduce that code's remaining balance.
Guests enter a gift-card code on booking or store checkout to pay for a sauna or cold plunge session or retail. Issue those codes under Store → Gift Cards. Gift-card payment at POS records a sale and does not reduce the code balance.
What Zettlor does today
A staff-issued code spends the remaining gift-card balance at booking and store checkout. Buying a gift card on the public store grants a credit on the customer instead of a redeemable code. POS gift-card payment completes a register sale without reducing either balance. Treat codes, customer credits, and POS gift-card sales as three separate systems.
This behavior is partial: some of it is live, and the rest is a desk workaround rather than a missing settings screen you should hunt for. Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.
Desk path
Store → Gift Cards to issue codes and to check remaining. Type a code, last four characters, recipient name, or email in Check remaining, then submit. Guests can open /c/{handle}/gift/check without starting checkout. Redeem the code on booking or store checkout after you know remaining. For a walk-in at POS, do not assume gift-card payment spends the same code balance.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Staff take a gift card at POS and the guest still has a checkout code balance, or the reverse: the code works online but POS gift-card payment does not spend it.
Operator example
Alchemy issues a code under Store → Gift Cards that redeems on the booking page for a cold plunge seat. That code is not spent when staff choose gift-card payment at POS for towels.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- Search remaining on Store → Gift Cards (code, last four characters, recipient name, or email).
- If the guest is checking themselves, send them to
/c/{handle}/gift/check. - Have the guest enter the code on booking or store checkout.
- If staff take payment at POS, treat gift-card payment there as a separate sale, not a spend of the same code.
