How do I book a complimentary session?
Staff book a walk-in or reservation at $0 when a credit covers the seat, or grant a complimentary credit first.
Staff book the complimentary sauna or cold plunge seat at the desk so checkout is $0 when a credit covers it, or after a complimentary grant. Public checkout still creates a reservation; it is $0 only when spendable credit covers the seat.
What Zettlor does today
Staff walk-in and reservation flows can complete at $0 when session or dollar credits cover the price, or when staff choose complimentary on the walk-in pay path. A public guest without cover still sees a price.
This behavior is live in Zettlor today for a commercial sauna and cold plunge room. Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.
Desk path
Grant a complimentary credit if they have none, then book the slot from Schedule or walk-in. Walk-in pay supports now or comp; do not invent a complimentary-session toggle on the offering.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Desk clicks the public booking page, pays $0 expecting a hidden complimentary product, and either fails payment or consumes the last seat without a customer credit record.
Operator example
Alchemy comps a first-timer cold plunge after a tour. Staff grant one session credit, then walk them onto the in-progress slot so the reservation shows paid with credit.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- If the guest has no cover, grant a complimentary credit on the customer.
- Open Schedule and book the sauna or cold plunge slot as staff.
- Use walk-in comp or let the credit cover the seat to $0.
- Confirm the attendee is on the reservation before they enter the room.
Related questions
Can the guest self-book a free session without credit?
Public checkout charges the session price unless spendable credit covers it. Staff comp is the desk path.
Does comp consume capacity?
Yes. A complimentary seat still occupies session capacity like any other reservation.
