How do included member sessions book without charging, then flip to member price?

Session credits on the membership can cover a sauna or cold plunge seat to $0 during the billing period. After the included count is spent, checkout charges the session price. Unused sessions reset; they do not roll over.

Included member sessions spend session credits at checkout so the sauna or cold plunge seat can land at $0 while credits remain. After the period count is used, checkout charges the configured session price; there is no separate live switch that flips the guest onto a member list price.

What Zettlor does today

On the membership product, Sessions per period is the visit count for each Stripe billing period. The member spends those session credits against seats. Period refill resets the count; unused sessions do not roll over. There is no separate member price after included sessions run out, so checkout uses the session product price. Unlimited is a separate option from a fixed session count.

This behavior is partial: some of it is live, and the rest is a desk workaround rather than a missing settings screen you should hunt for. Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.

Desk path

Store → Products → open the membership → Sessions per period. Confirm the credit is active and spendable on the customer before you expect $0 checkout.

Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.

Failure mode

Operators treat leftover visits as rollover, then argue with members when the next period starts at the configured count. Others expect a cheaper member rate after credits run out, but checkout uses the session product price.

Operator example

Rytual sells an 8-session monthly membership. A regular books sauna and cold plunge seats at $0 until the eighth visit; the ninth visit in that period charges the shared-session price, and the count resets on the Stripe billing date.

A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.

How to do this

  1. Open Store → Products and edit the membership.
  2. Set Sessions per period to the included visit count, such as 8.
  3. Leave unlimited off unless you want visits uncounted.
  4. Confirm a test member's credit is active and spendable, then book a sauna or cold plunge seat and check that checkout is $0 until the count is spent.

Do unused included sessions roll over?

No. Period refill resets the count. Unused visits do not carry into the next Stripe billing period.

What happens after the included sessions are used?

Checkout charges the configured sauna or cold plunge session price. There is no separate member-price flip after credits run out.
