How do I post a closure or schedule-change notice on the booking page?
Tell guests about a closure, delayed open, or schedule change before they pay. Zettlor does not document an Add announcement strip; close slots and use the notice surfaces you have.
Tell guests about a closure, delayed open, or schedule change before they pay for a sauna and cold plunge seat. Native announcement strip: not documented in Zettlor today — do not invent that button. Close affected slots and put the notice where guests already look.
What Zettlor does today
You can close or capacity-override individual slots so guests cannot book a room that is offline (/guides/booking/override-one-session). You can change seasonal hours without silently shrinking the booking horizon (/guides/booking/seasonal-hours). FAQ answers say booking-page customization exists at a high level, but there is no published operator how-to for a dismissible banner with a 200-character message and optional button.
Until a native announcement control ships on your desk: (1) take inventory offline with Schedule overrides, (2) put the human-readable notice where guests already look — marketing site, embed intro copy, email/SMS to booked guests, or booking-page custom content if your build exposes it — and (3) never leave a closed day looking bookable.
Desk path
Native announcement strip: not documented in Zettlor today. Workaround path:
- Close affected slots on Schedule (and pause templates if the closure is multi-day).
- If booking-page customization in your org allows a notice / intro blurb, put one short sentence there — confirm the label with onboarding; do not invent “Add announcement.”
- Message guests already booked on those sessions (see How do I message every guest on one session about a weather or time change?) or email them from the roster.
- Update the marketing site / Instagram bio link copy so the embed is not the only place that still looks open.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Posting “closed Tuesday” only on Instagram while the booking page still sells Tuesday cold plunge seats. Guests pay, get an auto-confirmation, and discover the closure at the door. The inverse failure: closing slots but never telling people already booked, so the roster stays full of arrivals you cannot serve.
Operator example
A heater fault takes Thursday evening offline. The desk closes Thursday slots on Schedule immediately, emails everyone on those sauna and cold plunge sessions with the new options, and adds a one-line note on the marketing site hours block. They do not wait for a fictional announcement CMS widget before stopping sales.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand’s private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- Decide the message in one sentence (closure, delayed open, moved start time). Long essays do not get read on the way to checkout.
- Take unsellable inventory offline with per-slot override or template pause so the calendar matches the words.
- Place the sentence on the highest-trust surface you control today (booking-page custom content if present, otherwise site hours + social + embed context).
- Contact guests already holding seats on affected sessions — do not rely on a banner alone for people who already paid.
- Set a calendar reminder to remove the notice and reopen slots when the issue clears.
- If product later ships a real announcement strip, prefer it for guest-facing copy and keep Schedule overrides as the inventory truth.
Related questions
Is an announcement enough without closing slots?
No. Words without inventory changes still sell the closed block. Close first, announce second.
Can I schedule a notice for next month?
If your build lacks scheduled announcements, write the copy in a draft note and set a reminder on your desk calendar for when to publish and remove it.
Should guests be able to dismiss a closure notice?
For safety or hard closures, no. Dismissal is fine for soft news (“new Friday night block”) when a native dismiss control exists.
