How do I reassign unused session credits from one guest profile to another?
Moving unused sauna and cold plunge session credits from guest A to guest B as a single reassign action is partial / not in product. Merge duplicates, or grant on the destination and stop spend on the source.
Moving unused sauna and cold plunge session credits from guest A’s profile to guest B as a single “reassign” action is partial / not in product. What is live: staff grant complimentary or goodwill credits on a customer, and Merge Customer moves credits when two records are the same person. There is no documented Transfer credits → pick source → pick destination control.
What Zettlor does today
This behavior is partial. Comp and goodwill grants create spendable session credits on the customer without a card charge (comp-credits). Import can create credits at migration. Credits only spend when status is active and spendable—cancelled, fully used, or expired credits do not book at $0 even if a leftover count shows. Merge Customer on CRM → Customers absorbs a duplicate profile into the one you keep; bookings, credits, and history follow the surviving record, with undo if you merged the wrong way.
What is not documented: a single Transfer credits action that moves a set number of punches from one guest profile to another and keeps the original purchase history attached. For two different people (partners, corporate seat move), the desk path is grant on the destination and stop spend on the source—not moving the balance in one click.
Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.
Desk path
Same person, two profiles: CRM → Customers → Merge Customer on the profile you keep. Different people / intentional transfer: open destination customer → grant complimentary or goodwill session credits for the approved count; on the source customer, cancel or exhaust the old credit so it cannot double-spend (confirm status—remaining count alone is not enough). Then book a test seat and confirm $0 only on the destination.
Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.
Failure mode
Desk “moves” credits by granting on B and leaving A’s credit active. Both book sauna and cold plunge seats at $0. Or staff refill remaining on a cancelled credit and wonder why checkout still charges. Merging the wrong direction briefly confuses waiver or membership history until undo. Treating family dependents as a credit reassignment when the real job is Family / Guardian links plus desk booking is another miss—see family-dependents.
Operator example
At Rytual, a member bought an eight-pack under a work email and later uses a personal email for cold plunge. Desk confirms both profiles are the same person, keeps the membership profile, runs Merge Customer, and verifies punches on the survivor. Separately, when a corporate coordinator asks to move two unused pooled visits to a colleague, ops grants two goodwill session credits on the colleague and marks the coordinator’s unused credit unspendable—there is no Transfer button between unrelated profiles.
A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.
How to do this
- Search CRM → Customers for both profiles and decide: duplicate identity (merge) versus intentional transfer between two people (grant + stop source).
- For duplicates: open the surviving profile (usually the one with active membership), start Merge Customer, absorb the duplicate, then verify credits and bookings; use undo if wrong.
- For transfers between two people: get ops approval and a written reason (gift, corporate seat move, makeup).
- On the destination customer, grant complimentary or goodwill session credits for the approved count.
- On the source customer, cancel or otherwise make the old credit unspendable so the same visits cannot be spent twice.
- Confirm destination credits are active and spendable; book a test sauna and cold plunge seat to $0.
- Note both profiles so the next shift does not re-grant or re-merge.
Related questions
Is merge the same as reassign?
Merge combines duplicate records for one person. Moving balance between two different people is not a single action today. Use merge for duplicates; use grant + stop-source for intentional transfers between profiles.
Can I just change the remaining count on A’s credit to zero and add to B?
You must leave the source unspendable and the destination active. Editing “remaining” without status care is how cancelled credits keep a positive leftover that still will not spend—or worse, both sides stay spendable.
Does a punch pack expiry follow the reassigned guest?
Pack validity follows the credit record you create on the destination. Set expiration deliberately; do not assume the source pack’s expiration date carries over automatically. See credit-expiry for pack clocks versus membership period reset.
