How do I let members book into the next billing period before renewal posts?

Cross-period booking that spends next period's included sauna and cold plunge sessions before Stripe renewal posts is not in product. Wait for renewal, charge the session, or grant credits.

Cross-period booking that spends next period’s included sauna and cold plunge sessions before Stripe renewal posts is not in product as a documented operator toggle. Period credits refill on the Stripe billing boundary; unused included sessions do not roll forward, and there is no confirmed “allow booking into next billing period” switch on the membership.

What Zettlor does today

This behavior is not in product as a documented operator toggle for booking into the next billing period before renewal posts. What is live: Sessions per period on the membership defines the visit count for the current Stripe billing period; members spend those credits while they are active and spendable; period refill resets the count; unused visits do not carry into the next period (included-sessions, credit-expiry). Booking window rules (including active-membership early access) control how far ahead a member may reserve a seat—they do not pre-draw next cycle’s included allotment before renewal.

What staff can do today without inventing a setting: grant complimentary or goodwill credits on CRM → Customers if ops chooses to cover a seat before renewal; book the seat as a paid session or desk comp; or wait until the renewal succeeds and the period count refills. Failed-charge states still matter—past due can keep membership credits spendable while Stripe retries; unpaid pauses and suspends those credits.

Guest booking, cancel, and credit self-serve steps stay on Help. This page is for operators.

Desk path

Store → Products → membership → Sessions per period to understand the current allotment. CRM → Customers to read membership status and whether credits are active and spendable. Scheduling → Configuration for how far ahead members may book seats (calendar access), not next-period credit draw. Stripe Dashboard for renewal / invoice timing. Comp path: customer → grant complimentary or goodwill credits when ops explicitly covers a pre-renewal visit.

Do not invent a settings path beyond what is listed here. If the product does not include a control, the desk workaround is the path.

Failure mode

Members book two weeks out expecting those visits to burn against next month’s eight sessions before renewal posts. Desk promises “it will come out of next month.” Renewal fails or delays; credits never appear; the guest arrives with no cover or argues about a double charge. Another failure: treating early-access windows as proof that next-period credits already exist—windows open the calendar, they do not invent future allotment.

Operator example

A Ro member on an eight-session monthly plan wants Friday sauna and cold plunge seats that fall after their Stripe renewal date. There is no settings toggle that lets those bookings pre-spend next month’s eight. Desk either waits for renewal to refill the count, sells the seats at the session price, or—if ops policy allows—grants a goodwill session credit and notes why. Early access still lets the member claim the calendar slot farther ahead than drop-ins; money and credit cover remain a separate check.

A sauna and cold plunge operator can copy the shape of this example without copying another brand's private pricing or customer lists.

How to do this

  1. Open the membership under Store → Products and confirm Sessions per period (or unlimited) for the current cycle.
  2. On CRM → Customers, verify the member is Active (or past due with still-spendable credits) and that remaining credits match what you expect for this period.
  3. If the visit falls after the next renewal, do not promise automatic draw against next period’s allotment—that control is not in product.
  4. Choose an explicit cover: wait for Stripe renewal and period refill; charge the session product price; or grant complimentary / goodwill credits with a note.
  5. Use Scheduling → Configuration only to decide whether the member may reserve the future slot on the calendar—not whether next-period credits exist yet.
  6. If renewal is late or failed, read membership status before check-in (see failed-charges); unpaid/canceled suspends membership credits even if a future reservation exists.
  7. Document house policy so desk does not invent “book on next month’s pack” language guests will treat as a product feature.

Do unused included sessions roll into next period so I can “pre-spend” them?

No. Period refill resets the count. Unused visits do not carry forward. That is the opposite of borrowing next period early.

Does early access mean next-period credits are available?

No. Early access changes when the member may book. Credit balance is still the current period’s spendable allotment (plus any separately granted credits).

Can I grant credits now that act like next month’s visits?

Staff can grant complimentary or goodwill credits without charging. That is a desk makeup path, not automatic next-billing-period booking. Confirm the credit is active and spendable before promising $0 checkout.
